Game Preview: Driv3rs Ed

by Eazy Street,
Alright, you know what, I'm sick and tired of all these GTA look alikes and the fact that they are only half as good. There's Streets of L.A., Mafia and The Simpsons Hit and Run. Well, Hit and Run was kinda good, but that besides the point. The latest look like is Driv3r (Driver 3). It a pretty good game. The only difference between Driv3r and Grand Theft Auto is that you're not stuck in one city, You're in three countries.Wow!
Ok, here's the story. You play Tanner aka "the Driver" and he joins a gang of car thieves. The thieves attempt to ship 40 of the world's most expensive cars to a mysterious international buyer. Meanwhile you're also a undercover cop who is trying to find out who this buyer is. So basically you're working for and against the car gang and you must use your skills in driving and firearms to infiltrate your way into the gang and then find out how to stop them.
We have to warn you, if your not really a big fan of movies and long cut scenes, you might find this a little boring. You can skip thru the scenes, but you will miss half the story and you won't know what you're doing. Every time you start playing the game, it recaps what happens the last time you played. We found this to be a little upsetting. There are over 80 cars, including boats, motorcycles, mopeds, sport cars, police cars and more cars. Most of the game play is driving, shooting, chasing, and more shooting. And there are three modes in this game. In the 1st you go undercover in the story mode. In the 2nd one is take a ride and for those of you how ever played Tony Hawk or Streets of L.A., you'll understand what this is. You basically just ride around, drive fast or slow, pick up on your skills and try not to get pulled over by the police (like any other day). The last mode is the driving games mode. This is just a series of games that you can play for fun.Driv3er is available now on the Playstation 2 and X-Box.
