True Crime gets a sneaker and Hollywood Voice Talent

Aww marketing...don you just love it! Well here's a good example of how companies will be fully intergrated into video game:

Puma Press Release
To commemorate the launch of the highly anticipated video game True Crime: New York City, PUMA has created a special edition True Crime RS-100 sneaker. Building off the success of the original True Crime partnership, PUMA and Activision Publishing Inc. have once again collaborated to create a unique and realistic experience for gamers and sneaker collectors alike.

Throughout True Crime: New York City, players will be able to interact with the PUMA brand on multiple levels including a specific sneaker collector mission. As a separate quest from the main game objectives, players can find and collect the special edition True Crime: New York City sneakers scattered throughout the city. To complete the mission and unlock a PUMA outfit for the character, players must successfully collect all of the True Crime RS-100 sneakers and return them to the appropriate retail locations.

In keeping with the realistic nature of True Crime: New York City, PUMA can be found in various aspects of the game environment. PUMA product is featured on numerous characters and players. The PUMA Soho store is also featured in the game along with real New York City boutique stores that sell PUMA sneakers including Classic Kicks, Flight Club and Clientele. Additionally billboards are scattered throughout the virtual streets of New York.

So with Puma onboard as a full sponsor, Activision has also acquired big time voice actors. The talent on board will include Christopher Walken as FBI field agent Gabriel Whitting, Laurence Fishburne as drug kingpin Isaiah "The King" Reed and Mickey Rourke as New York Police Detective Terrence Higgins. Activision has also employed the help of two former New York cops for advice during the game's development: Bill Clark, who also served as the executive producer of "NYPD Blue," and Tom Walker, author of "Ford Apache: The Bronx." Hopefulyl this will be a good game like the first True Crime: LA. Which also feature Snoop Dogg as an unlockable character. But in this new version our hero will be a black man!
